But, we've wrapped up the first quarter of the year, so it's time to get down to nitty-gritty: how many people are buying new Honda models this year?

And, well, the answer shouldn't really come as a surprise: there are quite a few people buying new Honda models in 2012. In April, Honda dealerships around the country moved more than 100,000 models. 109,837, to be exact - a 9.2-percent increase over April of 2011. Sales of the Honda Accord have jumped 40 percent over the same time last year, and it was only one of five Honda models to post double-digit percentage gains. John Mendel, American Honda Executive VP of sales, explains, "With doublt-digit sales growth in April, the Accord continues to be the retail sales leader...as other manufacturers resort to fleet sales, the quality and value of the Honda Accord continues to win new customers even as we prepare to launch a new model this fall."¹

Meanwhile, sales of the Honda Civic Hybrid are up more than 600 percent as of the end of the first quarter, thanks in large part to the ever-increasing cost of gasoline.
