Honda is getting ready to reveal the significantly modified 2012 Honda Insight at the Frankfurt Motor Show, this week. As with every major new model launch, Honda is keeping most details surrounding the revamped Honda Insight disclosed. However...like almost every new model launch...a few snippets have managed to slip through the cracks.
Big Island Honda - Hilo does know that the redesigned Honda Insight will deliver greater efficiency. This comes as no surprise based on teaser photographs released by Honda. The pictures evidence an aerodynamic front bumper and grille.
Beyond that surface-level takeaway, Honda has revealed, without giving away exact details, that the new 2012 Insight will also benefit from reduced engine friction and improvements to the continuously variable transmission (CVT) and air-conditioning system.
The tuning of all of these components translate to fuel economy of up to 51.3 mpg and likely not less than 45.6 mpg. The 2011 model, by comparison delivers 43 mpg highway/40 mpg city.
